Identity and history
Amna Suraka reuses a former security-institution building and concerns recent Kurdish political history and memory. It is not an antiquities museum. Earlier use, later display and visitor experience are distinct layers. Accounts of detention or repression require exhibition and research evidence rather than expansion from the name alone.

Author historyLocal and cultural context
Amna Suraka is a museum in Sulaymaniyah, whose name is often rendered as “Red Security” or “Red Prison”. It is presented as a place of modern historical memory. The available encyclopaedia introduction is limited, so this dataset adds no unverified exhibition details, victim totals or visitor conditions. These require museum records and further historical research.
