Identity and history
Basrah Museum occupies a building with an earlier use and introduces southern Iraqi and Mesopotamian antiquities. Building, object provenance and exhibition narrative are separate layers. Objects from different sites and periods do not all become Basra finds because they are displayed there. Museum development also relates to conservation and local public institutions.
